Authorities in Meghalaya have apprehended two Bangladeshi citizens for allegedly entering India without valid documentation. This information was disclosed by the police on Friday.
A senior official revealed that two additional individuals, who allegedly assisted the pair in crossing the border illegally, have also been taken into custody.
According to the official, a joint operation by the Border Security Force and Meghalaya police was conducted based on intelligence inputs. They intercepted a vehicle near Mawlai Bypass, which was en route to Guwahati, and detained the occupants for questioning.
The official stated, “During the interrogation, the two Bangladeshi nationals failed to present valid documents, leading to their arrest. The two accomplices who aided in their illegal border crossing were also apprehended. All four individuals had intended to travel to Guwahati.”
